ABOUT AACUSS

AACUSS is a network for student affairs & services professionals in Atlantic Canada. AACUSS has a rich history of supporting colleagues in the profession and collaborating with other colleagues in post-secondary education. AACUSS has eleven divisions that allow members to discuss and learn about topics in their specific areas of work. Members can can get involved by serving as a member of the Executive Committee.

Purpose
The purpose of the Association is to provide professional development opportunities to its members, to support the field of student services and to represent student services locally, as well as nationally.

Objectives:

  • 1.    To provide a medium for exchange, review, and evaluation of information and best practices among members.
  • 2.    To encourage and develop programs directed at the professional enhancement of its members.
  • 3.    To develop, encourage, and support professional and ethical standards in student services.
  • 4.    To liaise with Atlantic Association of Universities and keep them informed on professional developments and issues.

AACUSS acknowledges the ancestral lands on which it collectively operates. This includes the traditional and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaw known as Mi’kma’ki; the Wolastoqey people of the beautiful and bountiful river (known as St. John). The Wabanaki Confederacy members to the south, known as the Peskotomuhkati; the Beothuk of Newfoundland to the north and east, and the People of Land, Ice and Water of Labrador, the Innu and the Inuit.
